Randy White is a multi-instrumental musician known for his talent and passion for bluegrass, rock, and country genres. With influences such as Tony Trischka, Alan Munde, John Hickman and many others, White has honed his skills over many decades, becoming a master of the banjo.

‍ ‍

Randy’s musical journey began at 9 years old with his first guitar. A few years later, after hearing his new neighbors playing banjos on the porch while his family was moving in, he was bewitched by the banjo sound and immediately began copying it at home on his “secret banjo”.

‍ ‍

In high school, Randy co-founded a bluegrass band called White Lightning with his sister, showcasing his exceptional banjo playing and captivating audiences with their energetic performances. Throughout his career, he has collaborated and performed with Bluegrass artists and bands such as Joey Mackenzie, T. Texas and Company, Mackenzie River Boys, Out of the Blue, and Molly Bloom.

‍ ‍

His lifelong quest for acquiring and mastering new instrumental skills led him to expand into New Country territory where he spent several years playing pedal steel and lead guitar for Sara Evans & North Santiam, West Coast Wanted, and Cindy Harding. Randy has contributed his diverse instrumental skills to the success of other artists’ recording projects with Out of the Blue, Cindy Harding and many studio recording sessions, as well as recording his own original instrumental acoustic and electric guitar music (https://soundcloud.com/randallwhite).

‍ ‍

Aside from his accomplishments as a performer, Randy White has dedicated himself to teaching music for the past 30 years. As a teacher of banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bass, he has mentored countless aspiring musicians, sharing his passion and knowledge with them.

‍ ‍

Currently, Randy is working on his latest project, a popular YouTube channel where he shares banjo songs and lick tutorials, tabs, and instrument reviews. Through this platform, he continues to educate and inspire fellow musicians of all levels and abilities, providing valuable insights and tips to help them enhance their skills. Additionally, Randy White is actively seeking opportunities to collaborate with other talented players, always open to new musical experiences and collaborations.
